Modeling the Spread of Measles - this interactive graphic allows the user to visualize how infection rate changes among populations with different vaccination rates

Singing Wings - This website is full of engaging videos, animations, and graphics related to the Club-Winged Manakin.  Multimedia is used here to describe how the Manakins' wings "work" and uncover the evolutionary history of these intricate structures.  Students will love watching the male Manakins in action!

iNaturalist.org - Create projects to record natural history observations over time or geography.  You can also join in on projects created by others.

Encyclopedia of Life - A collection of free informational resources about life on Earth.  Educational Resources include text, videos, lesson plans, and more.

Thought-Provoking Documentaries

Tapped - An important and enlightening documentary on the realities and true costs of bottled water.  [This link takes you to the trailer.  The full documentary may be available if you subscribe to Netflix service]

The Botany of Desire - A fascinating look at four plants (apple, tulip, potato, marijuana) that have evolved in response to human interaction with commentary on how we as humans have likewise been manipulated to proliferate certain individuals of these species.  Based on the book of the same name by Micheal Pollan. Viewer's Guide by PBS

Ordinary Extraordinary Junco - An interesting look at the behavior, ecology, and evolution of the Junco, a diverse and well-studied North American songbird.  This documentary is interesting, educational, and appropriate for wide-ranging audiences.  See their educational resources page for viewing guides and suggestions on using the video in your classroom.  Chapters are available for free online.
